The museum at The Clockworks displays over 150 clocks and timekeepers, running from the earliest days of electric and synchronised time in the 1840s to the mid-twentieth century. It tells the story of developing technology, of designers and innovators, and the emergence of the modern world.

Friday curator’s tour

In addition to our weekly curator’s talk (Friday at 12:30), the museum is open Monday – Friday by appointment, and is free to visit. To book a slot, please follow the link below.
Group visits
Formal group tours (10+ people) are available and last approximately 90 minutes. They include teas and coffees, a 60-minute curator-led tour and a look inside the workshop. Tours cost £10 per head (with one convenor free of charge).
We also now offer evening tours on Monday – Friday between 6-8pm (subject to availability). These cost £20pp and include a light drinks reception.

Daytime group tours are free for horology schools and certain charitable organisations.
