People ffolliott Gray (1883-1962)

ffolliott Gray was born in 1883 in Bradford, where he attended technical college and trained as an engineer before moving to London in 1907. He worked briefly as Instrument Tester at Smithfield Markets Electric Supply Company and then began working on the measurement of air, gas and steam at George Kent Limited in Luton, where he remained until retirement in 1956. In addition to designing a double pendulum clock (completed in 1924; patented in 1926), he undertook a number of independent amateur building and engineering projects including installing electricity in his own house and building a pair of semi-detached houses. He married Nora Whitworth in 1934 and died in 1961, aged 78.
