This clock dates from an 1898, an experimental period for the Synchronome Company, who later became well established as a major manufacturer of electric clocks. It incorporates an early version of the ‘Synchronome Switch’, which creates a clean break in the electrical circuit. The case is typical of Synchronome’s early clocks in incorporating a pronounced pediment and bracket base; it does not have a pilot dial.
