Family workshop Friday (Morning)

Join our Curator and Conservator-in-Residence for a morning of hands-on clockmaking. We’ll be putting together our own basic single-train clock, learning the principles of clock design, and exploring the Clockworks collection, before disassembling a classic English Dial clock in the workshop. If you prefer, you are also welcome to bring a clock of your own to work on.

Best for ages 7-11 (Key Stage 2). Siblings welcome with accompanying parents. £5 per child, prebooking essential.  

Facilities

We have baby changing facilities, a large disabled toilet and kitchenette, and plenty of places to sit. Breast and bottle feeding is welcome anywhere in the building. We have some limited space to store buggies.

Please note, The Clockworks building includes a semi-open workshop with potentially hazardous chemicals and machines. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
